WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnotherapy is a highly effective therapeutic technique. A trained Hypnotherapist uses hypnosis to enable the client to achieve a state of mental, physical and emotional relaxation. When in hypnosis, the conscious mind (that busy, analytical part of your mind) is quietened, and we can tap into the powerhouse information that lies within the unconscious mind and make positive changes to thought patterns and habits, that are having a negative impact on your life. Hypnosis is similar to meditation but much more goal orientated, and hence many success driven people are drawn to it.
HOW DOES IT WORK EXACTLY?
We have two parts to our brain – the conscious part and what is called the “unconscious” (also called “subconscious”) and the two parts conscious and unconscious have very different roles. Through hypnotherapy we bypass the ‘conscious’ mind and shift the unconscious mind so that it takes on new, improved behaviours and changes for the better… this could be sleeping better, less stress or anxiety, achieving business goals, or improved performance in the sport… endless changes are possible.
CAN HYPNOTHERAPY BENEFIT ME?
If you are looking to make changes to your life, then yes hypnotherapy is ideal for you. Hypnosis helps you take control of your own life by, exploring and re-writing your inner script. Hypnotherapy seeks to help at a deeper level of consciousness, bringing about physical or mental changes.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
The results of hypnotherapy treatment can take effect immediately. Everyone is different and our challenges all vary. Clients often experience profound change over the course of several treatments, and when equipped with invaluable tools such as self-hypnosis that can be utilised in everyday life.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN A SESSION?
During a hypnotherapy session you enter a normal, natural, healthy state of mind and total relaxation. We then work to unlock on unconscious level what you need from within yourself to make changes and create new, more positive behaviours.
IS HYPNOSIS SAFE?
Hypnosis is perfectly safe. It is not mind-control, brain-washing, unconsciousness or a weird state of mind. When in hypnosis a person is in a natural and highly effective state. You are always in control of the situation and you are never unconscious. You will still be in touch with your moral compass and usual standards of behaviour. Hypnosis can safely treat the physical and mental aspects of many problems and can help you break your physical and emotional dependence on issues such as anxiety, lack of confidence, overeating, anger, or any other destructive behaviour that you want to change.
WILL I BE IN CONTROL OF MYSELF
This is a commonly asked question. Will I lose control... will I say or do anything I don't want to do. When you are fully relaxed with hypnosis you are still in control of yourself. You are still conscious, but your conscious mind is extremely relaxed and quietened. No one can control you and make you do things while you’re hypnotised unless you allow it.
WHAT AREA'S CAN HYPNOSIS ASSIST ME?
You can make changes in a number of areas in your life from STRESS, ANXIETY, FERTILITY, BUSINESS PERFORMANCE, SPORTING PERFORMANCE, SELF CONFIDENCE and WEIGHT.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Another frequently asked question about hypnosis is “how many sessions will I need?” You most likely will need more than one session to solve your problem. Most people see noticeable results after just one session so you might not need extensive hypnosis or months of treatment in order to eliminate your problem, but it will almost always take more than one session for you to see any kind of noticeable results. Hypnosis and self hypnosis is a culmative process, the more you do it and visualise new improved behaviours the better the results and changes you will experience.
CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTISED?
Most people can by hypnotised, some people more so than others. The depth that people reach in hypnosis will vary. It is not necessary to achieve a very deep level of hypnosis to bring about change to behaviours that are having a negative impact in your life. The more exposure and practice you have with hypnosis (and with self-hypnosis) the more easily you can enter a relaxed state.
